Best Mobile Phones Under Rs. 50,000 in Nepal

With so many options, buying a smartphone can become a confusing adventure for many. And in the Nepali market, the 50K price bracket is probably the trickiest of them all. This is because it is a category that is more than midrange yet less than premium midrangers. So at times, most of the phones in this range do not find the right balance between price and overall performance. To help you with your buying decision, here is our list of best phones under NPR 50000 in Nepal.

How to find the best phones under NPR 50000 in Nepal?

As mentioned above, phones priced under 50K are kind of a midrange between midrange and premium midrange devices, so it can be a little difficult to gauge their feature set and overall value for money. Anyway, when spending NPR 50000 on a phone you should not settle for anything less than a high refresh rate OLED display. An attractive and durable design is another thing to look for here.

While official IP ratings are quite rare in this segment, if that's a must for you, Samsung has you covered. Some Xiaomi/Redmi smartphones may also have an IP53 rating, with Samsung phones usually coming with the stronger IP67 dust and water resistance instead. Performance should also not be a concern on these smartphones, while you also get a capable camera setup here. Some brands also offer OIS in this price range.

Best mobile phones under NPR 50000 in Nepal:

10. OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G

OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G - Bahamas Blue

Taking the number 10 position on our list of best phones under NPR 50000 in Nepal is the OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G. As the company deepens its integration with OPPO, OnePlus products have struggled to maintain a distinct identity of their own. And that goes for this phone as well since it is basically the same as the OPPO Find X5 Lite.

MediaTek’s Dimensity 900 chip powers this thing, with 8/12GB LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of expandable storage. For a phone that launched in 2022, it still boots on Android 11-based OxygenOS 11.3 though. But OnePlus has promised 2 years of platform and 3 years of security updates for the Nord CE 2.

Anyway, the Dimensity 900 is a pretty capable processor and it can handle your everyday tasks just fine—including gaming. Of course, demanding games like Genshin Impact take a toll on this phone but you can expect smooth gameplay under other popular titles like COD and PUBG Mobile under adjusted settings. As such, the phone stays pretty comfortable under a prolonged gaming session too.

90Hz OLED display

Upfront, the Nord CE 2 brings a 6.4″ Fluid AMOLED display with HDR10+ support and a 90Hz refresh rate—although 120Hz is pretty common in this price range. Still, the core quality of this screen is pretty good and it’s protected by Gorilla Glass 5 as well. At just 173 grams, the Nord CE 2 is pretty lightweight while its build quality is also pretty ergonomic.

Moving on, the phone has a triple camera setup at the back led by a 64MP primary sensor with EIS. This is followed by an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro shooter. Handling the selfies is a 16MP Sony IMX471 sensor. The phone is fueled by a modest 4500mAh battery with 65W fast charging support.

OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G Specifications:

  • Display: 6.43-inch AMOLED screen, FHD+, 90Hz refresh rate, Gorilla Glass 5

  • Chipset: MediaTek Dimensity 900 5G (6nm mobile platform)

  • Memory: 6/8GB LPDDR4X RAM, 128GB UFS 2.2 storage (expandable)

  • Software & UI: OxygenOS 11 on top of Android 11 (upgradeable)

  • Rear Camera: Triple (64MP main, 8MP ultrawide, 2MP macro)

  • Front Camera: 16MP sensor (hole-punch)

  • Security: Fingerprint sensor (optical in-display)

  • Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 6 (dual-band), Bluetooth 5.2, GPS / AGPS / Glonass / Galileo / Beidou / QZSS, NFC, USB-C, 4G LTE, 5G

  • Sensors: Accelerometer, Ambient light, E-compass, Gyro, Proximity, Sensor core

  • Battery: 4500mAh with 65W charging (65W adapter inside the box)

  • Price in Nepal: NPR 48,999 (8/128GB)

9. Honor X9a

Honor X9a - Emerald Green

Next up is the new Honor X9a (aka Honor Magic 5 Lite in some markets). This phone is for those who prefer a flashy design above everything else. Available in either Silver or Emerald Green color options, the Honor X9a looks and feels like a premium phone. The matte finish at the back mixed with slim and lightweight build quality means this phone wins big points as far as ergonomics is concerned. And that bold circular camera ring at the back is something of a conversation piece as well.

But the actual cameras on this phone are not that inspiring. There’s a triple camera array inside the aforementioned camera ring, which includes a 64MP main, a 5MP ultrawide, and a 2MP macro lens. But we found that Honor hasn’t optimized the cameras that well. And its ultrawide sensor is especially underwhelming for a premium mid-range phone. Honor X9a also lacks optical image stabilization (OIS), while there’s no EIS for videos either.

Not the best performance

Its performance is just so-so too. Snapdragon 695 is a good processor for regular everyday usage, but it would’ve been nicer if Honor had gone with something more powerful like the Snapdragon 778G or Dimensity 1080 instead. This chip has been complemented by a healthy 8GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage. As for software, the phone runs on Android 12-based Magic UI 6.0. This custom Android skin is free of any unnecessary bloatware apps and is quite stable too.

Even though the Honor X9a is a pretty slim phone measuring just 7.9mm thin, the company has managed to pack a massive 5100mAh battery on this thing. As a result, its battery life is absolutely fantastic; managing to last a full day and more. And with the 40W charger that’s included inside the box itself, you can fill it up in a little under an hour.

But the biggest highlight of this phone is definitely its display. The Honor X9a has a gorgeous 6.67″ curved AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and minimal bezels on all four sides that looks stunning. The company has also ensured its durability by using something called “Deepy Re-inforced Glass”, which supposedly survives the toughest drops, bumps, or other unpleasant impacts. We did our own drop tests on the phone and were quite impressed with how it survived them all without any trouble.

Honor X9a Specifications:

  • Display: 6.67-inch AMOLED screen, FHD+, 120Hz refresh rate

  • Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G (6nm mobile platform)

  • Memory: 8GB RAM, 256GB storage (fixed)

  • Software & UI: Magic UI 6.0 on top of Android 12

  • Rear Camera: Triple (64MP main, 5MP ultrawide, 2MP macro)

  • Front Camera: 16MP sensor (hole-punch)

  • Security: Fingerprint sensor (optical in-display)

  • Connectivity: Hybrid Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 5 (dual-band), Bluetooth 5.1, GPS / AGPS / Glonass / Galileo / Beidou, NFC, USB-C, 4G LTE, 5G

  • Sensors: Accelerometer, Ambient light, Compass, Gravity, Gyro, Proximity

  • Battery: 5100mAh with 40W charging (40W adapter inside the box)

  • Price in Nepal: NPR 45,990 (8/256GB)

8. Samsung Galaxy A33 5G

Samsung Galaxy A33 5G

At number eight in our list of best phones under NPR 50000 in Nepal is the Samsung Galaxy A33 5G. The phone originally launched at NPR 46,999 for the 8/128GB variant here, although it received a massive price drop by NPR 5,000 (but a price hike by NPR 1,000 again). Because of this (and a few other factors), the Galaxy A33 is now finally recommendable.

For starters, it features a powerful Exynos 1280 chip inside. Granted this processor was quite under-optimized back when the phone made its debut, but Samsung has since pushed a bunch of software updates that have made the Galaxy A33 a lot more fluid and responsive.

Gaming’s still a bit of a gray area as the phone still can’t run most popular games at high settings, but hopefully, that will be resolved with future updates. Besides gaming, the Galaxy A33 delivers a top-notch software experience. It runs on Samsung’s One UI 4.1 based on Android 12 out-of-the-box, and the company even promises 3 generations of OS and 4 years of security updates.

Class-leading design and build quality

Apart from the best-in-class software support, the Galaxy A33 is also IP67 dust/water-resistant. In fact, it’s one of the very few devices on our list of best phones under NPR 50000 in Nepal to bring an IP67 rating. On the other hand, its design is pretty attractive too. Pair that with the matte finish at the back and a handy form factor, the A33 is one of the most attractive mid-range phones out there.

Up front, it has a great 6.4″ 90Hz Super AMOLED display. While its color reproduction and brightness levels are fine and all, unfortunately, Samsung has gone with a teardrop notch here. Likewise, the Galaxy A33 brings a quad-camera array at the back led by a 48MP primary lens with OIS.

Complementing this is an 8MP ultrawide, a 5MP macro, and a 2MP depth sensor. Overall, it shoots pretty decent photos during the day; while its low-light photography could be a little more optimized. Moving on, the Galaxy A33 is fueled by a large 5000mAh battery that easily lasts a whole day. It supports 25W fast charging and you’re gonna have to buy a compatible power brick separately because Samsung isn’t offering one inside the box.

Samsung Galaxy A33 5G Specifications:

  • Display: 6.4-inch AMOLED screen, FHD+, 90Hz refresh rate, Gorilla Glass 5

  • Chipset: Samsung Exynos 1280 5G (5nm mobile platform)

  • Memory: 6/8GB LPDDR4X RAM, 128/256GB UFS 2.1 storage (expandable)

  • Software & UI: One UI 4.1 on top of Android 12 (upgradeable)

  • Rear Camera: Quad (48MP main, 8MP ultrawide, 5MP macro, 2MP depth)

  • Front Camera: 13MP sensor (teardrop notch)

  • Security: Fingerprint sensor (optical in-display)

  • Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 5 (dual-band), Bluetooth 5.1, GPS / Glonass / Galileo / Beidou / QZSS, NFC, USB-C, 4G LTE, 5G

  • Sensors: Accelerometer, Geomagnetic, Gyro, Hall, Light, Proximity

  • Battery: 5000mAh with 25W charging (power adapter not provided)

  • Price in Nepal: NPR 42,999 (8/128GB)

7. OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite

OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite - Pastel Lime

The new OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite is pretty similar to its predecessor, the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite. And one of the most notable upgrades this time is the switch from 64MP to a 108MP ISOCELL HM6 camera. Anyway, thanks to a higher-res 108MP sensor, the Nord CE 3 Lite is capable of capturing 3x lossless zoom images.

But although we would’ve also liked to see an ultrawide camera this time, OnePlus has settled with the same 2MP macro and 2MP depth sensors here. Other than this, the Nord CE 3 Lite also carries a larger 6.72″ FHD 120Hz display now. Then again, it’s still an IPS panel instead of AMOLED. Which makes it the only phone on our list of best phones under NPR 50000 in Nepal with an IPS panel.

Powered by the same Snapdragon 695 chip, the performance side of things sees no upgrades either. The phone runs on Android 13-based OxygenOS 13 out-of-the-box and OnePlus also promises 2 major Android and 3 years of security updates for this guy. Now, if all this sounds eerily familiar, that’s because Nord CE 3 Lite is essentially a rebranded Realme 10 Pro. But with 67W fast charging instead of 33W.

OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite Specifications:

  • Display: 6.72-inch IPS LCD screen, FHD+, 120Hz refresh rate

  • Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G (6nm mobile platform)

  • Memory: 8GB LPDDR4X RAM, 128/256GB UFS 2.2 storage (expandable)

  • Software & UI: OxygenOS 13 on top of Android 13

  • Rear Camera: Triple (108MP main, 2MP depth, 2MP macro)

  • Front Camera: 16MP sensor (hole-punch)

  • Security: Fingerprint sensor (side-mounted)

  • Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 5 (dual-band), Bluetooth 5.1, GPS / A-GPS / Glonass / Galileo / QZSS / BDS, USB-C, 4G LTE, 5G

  • Sensors: Accelerometer, Ambient light, E-compass, Gyro, Proximity, Sensor core

  • Battery: 5000mAh with 67W charging (67W adapter inside the box)

  • Price in Nepal: NPR 41,999 (8/128GB)

6. Realme 9 Pro+

Realme 9 Pro+ - Aurora Green

Likewise, the Realme 9 Pro+ is our number six pick in this list of best phones under NPR 50000 in Nepal. This is the first “Pro+” phone in Realme’s number series and it’s got a healthy spec sheet to back up that stature. And its biggest highlight is definitely the cameras. At the back, Realme has gone with a triple camera array.

This consists of the flagship 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor with OIS alongside an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro lens. And on our test, we found that the phone takes great photos during both day and night—although they do look a bit oversaturated sometimes. As expected, Realme has disabled OIS on 4K resolution but 1080p videos at either 30 or 60 fps come out pretty stable from the phone.

Besides cameras, the Realme 9 Pro+ has a solid design as well. The phone is quite slim and lightweight. And if you’re someone who likes a flashy design, you might find its shimmery look to be right at home. Having said that, it has quite a significant bottom bezel on the front which doesn’t seem “Pro+” at all.

No 120Hz refresh rate

In terms of display, the Realme 9 Pro+ has a 6.4″ Super AMOLED panel. And like the OnePlus Nord CE 2 above, it also refreshes at 90Hz—while the touch sampling rate can go as high as 360Hz when you’re gaming. This display produces excellent colors and contrast, and it’s Widevine L1 certified to stream content at FHD resolution too. Moreover, the 9 Pro+ easily has the best-in-class haptics.

As for performance, the phone is powered by Dimensity 920 which is similar to Snapdragon 778G. So, you can expect fluent everyday performance on the 9 Pro+. We did notice the phone getting hot when playing graphics-hungry games but that’s to be expected from such a light phone. But what’s surprising is that its 4500mAh battery easily delivers one day’s worth of screen-on time!

Realme 9 Pro+ Specifications:

  • Display: 6.4-inch AMOLED screen, FHD+, 90Hz refresh rate, Gorilla Glass 5

  • Chipset: MediaTek Dimensity 920 5G (6nm mobile platform)

  • Memory: 6/8GB LPDDR4X RAM, 128/256GB UFS 2.2 storage (fixed)

  • Software & UI: Realme UI 3.0 on top of Android 12

  • Rear Camera: Triple (50MP main, 8MP ultrawide, 2MP macro)

  • Front Camera: 16MP sensor (hole-punch)

  • Security: Fingerprint sensor (optical in-display)

  • Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 6 (dual-band), Bluetooth 5.2, GPS / AGPS / Glonass / Beidou, USB-C, 4G LTE, 5G

  • Sensors: Accelerometer, Gyro, Light, Magnetic induction, Proximity

  • Battery: 4500mAh with 60W charging (65W adapter inside the box)

  • Price in Nepal: NPR 42,999 (6/128GB) | NPR 45,999 (8/128GB)

5. Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G

Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G - Onyx-Black

The fifth spot on our list of best phones under NPR 50000 in Nepal goes to the new Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G. Xiaomi’s “Redmi Note” lineup is incredibly popular among Nepali audiences and the Note 12 Pro brings a bunch of upgrades over last year’s Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G in almost all departments to find its way onto our list. Let’s start with the performance itself.

Powering the Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G is a MediaTek Dimensity 1080 chip, which is something you’d find on a couple of other phones on this list of best phones under NPR 50000 in Nepal. It is fabbed under TSMC’s 6nm process node and brings an octa-core CPU with Cortex-A78 and Cortex-A55 cores to deliver a smooth, reliable everyday performance. The gaming side of things is not too shabby either.

However, the phone’s sleek profile means it compromises the cooling system a bit. And as expected, that was quite noticeable on our gaming tests. That doesn’t mean the Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G overheats or anything. Similarly, we would’ve liked it better if Xiaomi shipped this phone with the latest Android 13-based MIUI 14 instead of the older MIUI 13 (Android 12). At least Xiaomi is promising 2 major Android updates and 4 years of security updates for this guy, so there’s that.

New design

Besides performance and design, its cameras have been upgraded too. It doesn’t have the same 108MP primary sensor as its predecessor but you’re now getting a much more reliable 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor instead. That too with OIS! But apart from the main camera, the Note 12 Pro 5G brings the same 8MP ultrawide, 2MP macro, and 16MP selfie shooter as the Note 11 Pro 5G.

Its display is also quite nice. You’re looking at a 6.67″ FHD OLED panel with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. There’s HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support too, while Xiaomi has also bumped the global peak brightness from 700 nits to 900 nits. As for battery, it’s got the same 5000mAh unit that supports 67W fast charging.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro Specifications:

  • Display: 6.67-inch AMOLED screen, FHD+, 120Hz refresh rate, Gorilla Glass 5

  • Chipset: MediaTek Dimensity 1080 5G (6nm mobile platform)

  • Memory: 6/8/12GB LPDDR4X RAM, 128/256GB UFS 2.2 storage (fixed)

  • Software & UI: MIUI 13 on top of Android 12

  • Rear Camera: Triple (50MP primary, 8MP ultrawide, 2MP macro)

  • Front Camera: 16MP sensor (hole-punch)

  • Security: Fingerprint sensor (side-mounted)

  • Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 6 (dual-band), Bluetooth 5.2, GPS / AGPS / Glonass / Galileo / Beidou / QZSS, USB-C, 4G LTE, Dual 5G

  • Sensors: Accelerometer, Ambient light, E-compass, Gyro, Ultrasonic

  • Battery: 5000mAh with 67W charging (67W adapter inside the box)

  • Price in Nepal: NPR 36,999 (6/128GB) | NPR 39,999 (8/256GB)

4. Xiaomi 12 Lite

Xiaomi 12 Lite - Green best phones under 50000 in nepal

Xiaomi has been steadily stepping up its game in the premium midrange and flagship category for quite some time now. And last year’s Xiaomi 12 Lite is a terrific example of that. This is a great all-rounder phone which brings a harmonious balance between crucial aspects like design, display, performance, and cameras. Starting with the design, the Xiaomi 12 Lite is available in three, fun color options: pink, green, and black.

For unique aesthetics, Xiaomi has also gone with a boxy, flat-edge design just like the latest iPhones. And weighing just around 173 grams, this phone feels super lightweight and comfortable to hold as well. Yet, we would’ve liked it more if the company had at least offered IP53 dust and splash resistance here.

120Hz AMOLED display

Getting to the display, Xiaomi 12 Lite has a 6.55″ Full HD AMOLED screen with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision HDR, and so much more. So for content consumption (or just about everything else), this is a fantastic display to look at. Xiaomi has also complemented it with a decent set of stereo speakers. However, you don’t get a 3.5mm headphone jack here.

In terms of performance, the 12 Lite is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 778G 5G processor. And as we know, this is quite a reliable performer overall, so you won’t face any sort of stutters or delay under normal everyday tasks. But in order to maintain that sleek design language, Xiaomi has had to compromise on the cooling system here. As a result, the Xiaomi 12 Lite can’t handle long, continuous gaming sessions all that well.

For photography, it comes with a 108MP main, an 8MP ultrawide, and a 2MP macro camera at the back. And based on our testing, we found that the 12 Lite can in fact take decent photos under ample lighting conditions with good details and dynamic range from that primary camera. The battery life from its 4300mAh cell is just average though, failing to last a full day on 100% charge.

Xiaomi 12 Lite Specifications:

  • Display: 6.55-inch AMOLED screen, FHD+, 120Hz refresh rate, Gorilla Glass 5

  • Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G 5G (6nm mobile platform)

  • Memory: 6/8GB LPDDR4X RAM, 128/256GB storage (expandable)

  • Software & UI: MIUI 13 on top of Android 12

  • Rear Camera: Triple (108MP main, 8MP ultrawide, 2MP macro)

  • Front Camera: 32MP sensor (hole-punch)

  • Security: Fingerprint sensor (optical in-display)

  • Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 6 (dual-band), Bluetooth 5.2, GPS / AGPS / Galileo / Beidou / QZSS, NFC, USB-C, 4G LTE, 5G

  • Sensors: Accelerometer, Ambient light, E-compass, Gyro, IR blaster, Proximity

  • Battery: 4300mAh with 67W charging (67W adapter inside the box)

  • Price in Nepal: NPR 50,999* (6/128GB)

3. Samsung Galaxy F54

Samsung Galaxy F54 - Silver

And the bronze medal on our list of best phones under NPR 50000 in Nepal goes to the newly launched Samsung Galaxy F54, which is just a rebranded Galaxy M54 by the way. As expected from a “Galaxy F” series phone, it brings a big battery and a slightly compromised design compared to the “Galaxy A” lineup. More specifically, Galaxy F54 carries a 6000mAh battery, which is the biggest compared to every other phone on this list.

As a result, it easily lasts a couple of days in medium to heavy usage. But filling it up takes around 1 hour and 45 minutes using a compatible 25W power brick. Oh, and you’re gonna have to buy a charger separately since Samsung doesn’t ship one inside the box. Besides this, Galaxy F54 has a pretty nice-looking design. Not as nice as Galaxy A54 which it takes some inspiration from, but still good enough.

The phone has curved edges at the back for a comfortable grip and is available in silver and dark blue finishes. Unlike Galaxy A54, Samsung has opted to go with a plastic back here, while this thing misses out on an official IP rating as well. As for the display, Galaxy F54 brings a big 6.7-inch Super AMOLED Plus panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. And it has good colors and brightness levels for easy outdoor visibility.

Exynos 1380

When it comes to performance, Galaxy F54 is powered by the same Exynos 1380 chip as Galaxy A54. On paper, it’s a pretty capable processor but Samsung hasn’t optimized it very well. That’s not to say that the phone struggles with casual everyday usage, absolutely not. But be it thermals or gameplay stability, there’s a lot of room for improvement. At least Samsung has promised 4 years of OS and 5 years of security updates here, so we can hope the Galaxy F54 ages better with time.

Camera-wise, you get a 108MP main sensor with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide, and a 2MP macro sensor here. And in our tests, the phone performed admirably well across various conditions. Galaxy A54 still has better optimization in certain cases but overall, it’s a good point-and-shoot camera phone. You can also shoot up to 4K 30 fps videos from this phone but Samsung has disabled OIS for videos.

Samsung Galaxy F54 Specifications:

  • Display: 6.7-inch AMOLED screen, FHD+, 120Hz refresh rate, Gorilla Glass 5

  • Chipset: Samsung Exynos 1380 5G (5nm mobile platform)

  • Memory: 8GB RAM, 256GB storage (expandable)

  • Software & UI: One UI 5.1 on top of Android 13

  • Rear Camera: Triple (108MP main, 8MP ultrawide, 2MP macro)

  • Front Camera: 32MP sensor (teardrop notch)

  • Security: Fingerprint sensor (side-mounted)

  • Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 6 (dual-band), Bluetooth 5.3, GPS / A-GPS / Glonass / Galileo / Beidou / QZSS, USB-C, 4G LTE, 5G

  • Sensors: Accelerometer, Geomagnetic, Gyro, Light, Proximity

  • Battery: 6000mAh with 25W charging (power adapter not provided)

  • Price in Nepal: NPR 52,499* (8/256GB)

2. Realme 10 Pro+

Realme 10 Pro+ - Hyperspace best phones under 50000 in nepal

Moving on, our number two pick in this list of best phones under NPR 50000 in Nepal is the Realme 10 Pro+. Compared to the 9 Pro+ above, Realme really went above and beyond with this phone; especially in terms of display. While curved screens have almost always been present only on high-end smartphones, the Realme 10 Pro+ brings a similar experience in the mid-range segment.

And it’s not an unpleasantly steep curve or anything either. This screen has a 61° curvature which walks a fine line between a premium look and feel, and minimal mistouches. Besides, this 6.7″ display also looks great for everyday usage or media consumption thanks to features like 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ certification, 100% DCI-P3 colors, and 800 nits peak brightness.

Curved display + curved design

As for the design, Realme has matched the curved display with curved edges at the back so the phone feels quite comfortable to hold as well. Despite a large screen and a big 5000mAh battery, Realme 10 Pro+ is less than 8mm thick and weighs around 172.5 grams only. It would’ve been nice if Realme managed to give some form of IP rating here, but oh well.

Getting to the cameras, the Realme 10 Pro+ carries a triple camera setup at the back led by a 108MP main sensor. Then there’s an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro camera, whereas it has a 16MP selfie shooter up front. Unfortunately, there’s no OIS this time, although Realme has tried to somewhat compensate for that by embedding the image processing pipeline from its flagship smartphones here.

Powering the Realme 10 Pro+ is MediaTek Dimensity 1080 5G with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. Software-wise, it boots on Android 13-based Realme UI 4.0 out-of-the-box. There are also 2 generations of OS and 3 years of security updates in the cards for this guy. The phone supports 67W fast charging and you get an 80W power adapter inside the box itself.

Realme 10 Pro+ Specifications:

  • Display: 6.7-inch AMOLED screen, FHD+, 120Hz refresh rate

  • Chipset: MediaTek Dimensity 1080 5G (6nm mobile platform)

  • Memory: 6/8GB LPDDR4X RAM, 128/256GB storage (expandable)

  • Software & UI: Realme UI 4.0 on top of Android 13

  • Rear Camera: Triple (108MP main, 8MP ultrawide, 2MP macro)

  • Front Camera: 16MP sensor (hole-punch)

  • Security: Fingerprint sensor (optical in-display)

  • Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 6 (dual-band), Bluetooth 5.2, GPS / AGPS / Glonass / Galileo / Beidou / QZSS, USB-C, 4G LTE, 5G

  • Sensors: Accelerometer, Gyro, Light, Magnetic induction, Proximity

  • Battery: 5000mAh with 67W charging (80W adapter inside the box)

  • Price in Nepal: NPR 45,999 (8/128GB)

1. Samsung Galaxy A34 5G

Samsung Galaxy A34 5G - Purple

Finally, the gold medal on our list of best phones under NPR 50000 in Nepal goes to the Samsung Galaxy A34 5G. As the name implies, it is the successor to the Galaxy A33 5G which appears in the sixth spot on our list. And it brings a bunch of meaningful upgrades over its predecessor to seal its place in the top spot of our list.

That starts with the design itself. Samsung has experimented with a universal design approach with almost all its smartphones in 2023. That means whether it’s a budget phone like the Galaxy A14 5G, a midrange one like the Galaxy A34 5G, or flagships like the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+, they all share similar design principles. This consists of a minimalistic camera layout with protruding lens, flat sides, and curved edges.

As a result, design-wise, the Galaxy A34 5G punches above its weight to give you a relatively premium experience. It does have a plastic back and frames, but its hands-on feel is quite nice for a phone under 50K. For a more durable wear-and-tear in the long run, Samsung also offers IP67 dust and water resistance on this phone; which is something no other brands have managed in this segment. If only it has a hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera instead of a notch!

Dimensity 1080 5G

Other than this, another notable upgrade on the Galaxy A34 5G is definitely in the performance department. While Samsung had used its own, under-optimized Exynos 1280 chip on the Galaxy A33 5G, this guy features MediaTek’s Dimensity 1080 processor instead. As a result, whether it’s everyday performance or even gaming, the Galaxy A34 5G fares much better than its predecessor.

Not to mention, it is also guaranteed to receive 4 major Android upgrades and 5 years of security patches too. This is also something unheard from other smartphone makers in this price bracket. Other than this, the A34 also upgrades to a larger 6.6″ Super AMOLED display with a smoother 120Hz refresh rate. Whereas it borrows the same 48MP triple camera and a 5000mAh battery with 25W fast charging from Galaxy A33 5G.
